ANOTHER SUSTAINABILITY FIRST FOR FLOTH HQ BRISBANE

WELL V2 CERTIFIED PLATINUM

Well Platinum 2020

Floth recently achieved another certification ‘first’, with our innovative Brisbane headquarters in Fortitude Valley receiving Queensland’s first WELL v2 certification, and at the highest level of Platinum.

With our buildings having a profound impact on our health, wellbeing and productivity, WELL is an independently-verified, performance-based system for measuring, certifying and monitoring features of buildings that impact human health and wellbeing. WELL is the first and most robust building standard to focus exclusively on human health and wellness. Platinum level is the highest certification possible, and this was achieved in the latest WELL v2 rating system.

This certification follows recent global recognition of 69 Robertson Street as the only building in Australia nominated as a “Game Changer” in the World Green Building Online Case Study Library. Currently it is one of only 5 buildings designated as such in the world.

Following completion in 2015, the building initially achieved a hat-trick of firsts in Australia. It received the first six-star Green Star Design and As Built v1.1 certified rating and the first six-star National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) indoor environment rating. It was also recognised as the first building to publicly adopt the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council (ASBEC) Zero Carbon Standard Building definition.

A series of national and international awards followed, namely:

  • First Australian Winner of the World Green Building Council 2016 Asia Pacific Leadership in Green Building Awards for the Leadership in Sustainable Design and Performance category.
  • Winner of the 2016 UDIA (Qld) Awards for Excellence in the Consultants Excellence category.
  • Winner of the 2017 Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Awards for the Best Sustainable Development – New Buildings.
  • Winner of the 2017 Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Business Awards for the Energex Award for Sustainability in Business.

Additionally, in 2019 the building became the first Climate Active Carbon Neutral building in Queensland in conjunction with the achievement of 5.5 star NABERS Energy (6 Star with GreenPower) and 6 star NABERS Water ratings.
